STATISTICS AND OUTCOMES

During 2025-26, the Commission began reviewing its reporting practices to ensure statistical information more accurately reflects service demand, operational workload, and outcomes. Distinguishing between inquiries, complaint submissions, and formal complaint files supports greater transparency and provides a clearer understanding of the resources required to fulfill the Commission’s statutory mandate.

The statistics section is intended to tell the story of the complaint lifecycle: public demand, intake and assessment, active workload, resolution activity, Chief Commissioner review, court referrals, and files closed. This approach helps demonstrate not only volume, but mandate fulfillment, workload, performance, accountability, and resource requirements.

Clear and accurate reporting is essential to understanding the Commission’s work and ensuring accountability to the public. Distinguishing between inquiries, complaint submissions, and formal complaint files provides a more complete picture of service demand, operational workload, and resource requirements.
